Know The Best Way To Quit Smoking
Feb 2, 2010 Quit Smoking
You can quit smoking infinitely if you put your trust in God to help you be successful. Most people try to quit smoking through other means like pills, hypnosis, patch, or psychiatry without much success. These people do not recognize that the best way to quit smoking is through faith in the Lord. Through trusting God, you can break this habit for good and at no cost to you.
Think about all the different ways people you have met have used to quit smoking. Which methods brought back the most accomplished results? Which tools where used by the people who broke this habit forever?
You will find that most of the people who quit smoking using faith never turn back. They stay non-smokers forever. People who use other means for quitting smoking may be successful for a year or two, but mostly turn back to smoking again.
Why is it that people who use other methods are not as successful at conquering dilemmas as people who use faith alone? Do you think they have less will power than those who trust in the Lord? They probably do not but only lack that strong faith that enables believers to knock down any barrier.
To use faith in God for quitting smoking you first need to pray and know that He will answer your prayers. By asking the Lord for help and giving your habit entirely over to Him, you are using God’s amazing grace to conquer your problem.
Next, do not give up. Do not doubt that God will help you. No matter what obstacles are thrown your way, hold onto your faith. Keep praying to God and asking for his help. By not giving up, you are showing God that you trust him completely.
Once you kick this addition, bear witness to others about the power of faith. Don’t just tell them that faith is the best way to quit smoking, be sure to show them.

Stop Smoking Cigarettes And Feel Better
Dec 26, 2009 Quit Smoking
Smoking makes some people feel better, that it tricks you into feeling less strain and helps them to function better in their everyday lives. However, what they do not realize is that among the myriad of health issues associated with smoking, and increased heart rate is one of them which can result in a person feeling more stressed, which in turn sends them running outside for yet another cigarette, carrying on a wicked cycle. Lots of people are looking for the easy way to quit smoking or else they are not going to bother to try, but the bottom line is smoking is an addiction for many people, and easy may not be the best way to describe the stop smoking process.
If you are having a hard time quitting smoking then it may be time for you to look at the big picture where smoking is concerned. Smoking is cancer causing, and people still take the chance with getting lung cancer. Here is the problem, however, lung cancer has a very low survival rate, the reason for this is because symptoms do not present themselves until the disease has spread throughout the lungs and the body, and then it’s too late.
1. Ask why you are smoking. Do you smoke when you feel stressed? Do you need a cigarette after your meals? Identify the situation when you crave for a cigarette and avoid it when the urge to smoke arises. If you have the habit of smoking at certain places, stay away, especially drinking places.
2. give up smoking cold turkey. This takes a lot of self-control as you are going to give up your nicotine addiction immediately. The success rate is very low because the urge to smoke is too great. However, the advantage of using cold turkey is that you are overcoming the dependency on nicotine in the shortest possible time.
3. Exercise. It will get you to believe of something else. Exercise helps your body to perspire and in the process, flush out those toxins that have accumulated in your body over the years.
4. Using Nicotine Replacement Therapy. You may have seen things like gum, inhalers, even water on the market. These products contain nicotine and act as cigarette alternatives. The good thing about using nicotine replacement therapy is that you can slowly reduce the nicotine dosage until you no longer need it. However, this prolongs your nicotine dependency and you might increase the dosage, or turn back to cigarettes.
Whatever ways to quit smoking you try, you should remember that the first couple of weeks will be the hardest. Your body is going to go through physical cravings for the chemicals and pollutants contained in cigarettes. Nicotine interacts with your body’s chemistry and secretes blood sugars. If the nicotine has been removed, the blood sugars fall, which is one explanation for an ex-smokers sudden cravings for sweets. So do yourself a favor and keep your blood sugar regulated with healthy foods not candy. Trying a diet of low GI food when you quit smoking will help you to master your cravings.

Knowing When To Stop Smoking
Dec 12, 2009 Quit Smoking
For people who have been struggling to cease smoking will do almost anything to rid themselves of this bad vice. If you think you are that determined to stop smoking now, then read on! It is astonishing how one’s health will improve after they actually quit their smoking habit, not to mention the money that you will actually save from buying cigarettes.
People will also find you pleasant to be with, as some are scared of inhaling smokes and actually being a second hand smoker. And being in friendly situations can be good again. You can get to being near individuals again, who don’t smoke.
There is a way for an individual to be able to get rid of this negative habit, and that is by slowly quitting it. This method proves to be effective, as opposed to going cold turkey. When you start this method and do it on a regular basis, it actually does not matter whether you are used to smoking more than one pack a day. But when you actually take a cigarette away every day, you will be astonished at how suddenly the urge to smoke more is no longer there.
This is a great way to allow your body to kick the habit. If you are finding this very difficult, you can try to do a few every other day. As long as you feel comfortable in doing the stopping part, then do it.
Consider the strength of your will power with stopping. Yes! You are reading this one right. Using your will power to just smoke a half cigarette can be very helpful. This will actually help you build confidence that indeed, stopping is doable for you. Those that are serious will stop while those that have a weak mind, may relapse. You can actually do this with my first suggestion.
Maybe you should think about hanging out with people that don’t smoke. Your family (most especially your kids), your anti-smoking friends or neighbors, and the list go on and on. In doing this step, you are consciously forced to stop smoking. You can also avoid going to places where they actually allow you to smoke. This can help you keep your mind of off smoking.

Happier After A Smoking Cessation
Oct 7, 2009 Quit Smoking
Smokers have more fun. This is a common accepted fact, which recently have been busted as a myth by British scientists. More than 70% of the 879 ex-smokers who were interviewed in the survey, answered that they were happier as ex-smokers.
Among 879 ex-smokers 69.3 percent answered that they are happier after their cessation. 26.6 percent felt that their mood was the same, and only 3.3 percent said that they were less happy than before.
The findings corresponds well with my own experience: people don’t regret that they have stopped smoking, rather they regret that they started.
There is a myth, that if you quit smoking, you might prolong your life, but at the same time you lose some quality of life. But the ex-smokers who have come through it the first time with withdrawal symptoms both have the cake and eat it too: they feel proud to be able to stop, feel free of dependence, has more energy and is meet with recognition for their achievement. They are, in short, on the winner of the team.
Focus on life quality rather than health
When trying to motivate people to quit smoking, focusing on the health benefits is far more efficient that pointing fingers and trying to scare people to quit.
Instead, we are developing new methods in which we dont to focus on diseases and health, but rather on the improved life quality, which freedom from smoke brings. The methods were developed from experiments with advice on smoking cessation for cancer patients. They were excited, partly because they felt that with a smoking cessation they themselves made a difference. Rather than being part of the problem, they were now part of the solution instead.
Better in time
The increased satisfaction is more pronounced, the longer the time that has passed since they stopped smoking. But even with ex-smokers, where the smoking stop was quite new, it was still the majority who feel happier now. Younger ex-smokers was more excited after their cessation than older people. However it did not matter whether they were heavy smokers or only smoked a few cigarettes a day.
